e-Learning Dive Theory: Dive Theory Online

PADI’s e-Learning tool has revolutionised first the PADI Open Water, then the Advanced Open Water, a number of PADI’s Specialties and now the big one…the PADI Divemaster course.

e-learning is online learning at your own pace, in your own space. You review materials, and learn using a variety of online multimedia such as text, graphics, animations, photos, videos and voice-overs until you feel confident to take the appropriate tests and exams online. Personally experiencing these online learning tools allows new PADI professionals a greater understanding of, and ability to promote this independent learning method.

Imagine arriving on the tropical island of Ko Lanta and having virtually no classroom sessions, being able to go staright to the fun bit…the diving!

As with all PADI e-Learning options, a student affilites with a dive school (Scubafish), when registering for this option. Scubafish then answer any questions or difficulties you may have with a particular subject or module, and support your online learning. Dive Theory Online:

The Divemaster course is comprised on 9 theory components. 6 of these modules are covered by this program (the remaining 3 have a more practical aspect and would be taken with a PADI Instructor):

Dive Physics
Dive Physiology
RDP and Decompression Theory
Equipment
Dive Skills
Environmental Considerations

The content of each subject is broken down into easy-to-learn segments, and consists of study questions which allow you to check your understanding. At the end of each module eLearners take an exam of up to 25 questions on the materials covered. The exams are marked automatically, and you discover which if any questions you require clarification on from Scubafish. Students must achieve 75% to pass. Upon completion of the 6 modules you print off an eRecord which you bring with you, and demonstrates to us that you are prepared for the Theory exams. All this for just US$100!
